I was contacted by Makeupsocial to try out their new iPhone app (*) which goes along side their website. I was really excited to download and try out their app as I haven't really got anything like it on my phone and I haven't used their website before either. It's a free app and it will be available on android phones as well as iPhones soon.
My first impressions of the app is that it is very easy to use and it is set out clearly and presentably. To start with, you have to either log in or create an account (through an email or facebook) to make a profile. You then have to fill in a 'beauty profile' asking about your skin type, hair type and eye colour etc. I think this is a really good step as you know that your newsfeed is going to be completely specific for you. The set up of the app is really lovely and you read about the latest makeup looks, trends and products from other people as well as professionals. You can also look at tons of reviews of makeup products and then easily be linked to where you can buy it online. It is really easy to post on your profile too. You simply chose what category it is under and you can write away adding pictures if you wish. My favourite feature of the app is that you tag a part of your picture (say the lips) and tag what it is you used so other people can find it easily. If you love makeup & blogging like me you will love this app!
