FESTIVE WINTER NAILS

As part of the christmas season I have decided to do a "Festive Winter Makeup" series. I posted yesterday my Festive Winter Lip and I thought today I would do the same for nails. When I think of Christmas and nails all I can think of is glitter! It is not something I would wear all year round but it is something I definitely pull out at christmas. I'm not a big fan of vibrant glittery nails, I much prefer the more subtle look like the one shown here below.

Nails Inc Glamour Hanover Square  | Deborah Lippmann Good Girl Gone Bad

I put these two polishes together as they quite similar shade and work really nicely together. The base coat is a Nailsinc polish I got free in issue of Glamour Magazine. I don't there is a link for it online as it was a freebie so sorry about that but there are many similar colours out there! It is this gorgeous dark purple/red colour and looks amazing on it's own or with added glitter. I am really one for dark nails in winter and this is the perfect festive colour. This Deborah Lippmann polish is a little bit more pink than the base coat but I still really love it. The glitter itself is very small and it gives the perfect shimmer when it hits the light. Because it is slightly lighter it shows up better against the undercoat. I really love this combination and I will definitely be wearing this for Christmas day or New Years.

SUMMER BLUES

I don't know about you but I feel like we have had the last of our summer for this year. I can't complain as it has been a pretty decent summer compared to some we have had previously. This summer I have been really loving blue nail polishes. Whether this is from pastels, to dark and glittery blues. My top five are shown before. As you can see I still have an obession with Barry M and their Gelly Hi-Shine polishes. I'll link all the colour shades below.

I think my favourite shade of blue this season has to be the pastel shade and I have been particularly been going back to the Tanya Burr Exclusive nail polish in Little Duck which I also talk about HERE. I think it is the perfect colour and goes with a lot of outfits. I think it can almost be cased as a light mint colour too. I also really like 'Blueberry'. I prefer the Gelly Hi-Shine polishes better as I think they apply better and this is a really nice summery blue colour. For evenings and nights out I have been loving the darker blue shades like 'cobalt blue'. I think it's subtle and still summery. I also really like the glittery shades. Whether this is wearing over the top or on it's own. This is also another great shade to wear in the evenings. I think I have absolutely out done summer polishes this season and I am excited to see what I go for during the autumn and winter as it is getting colder.

LITTLE DUCK

I can't believe that since giving one of the Tanya Burr Exclusive nail polish away for my 250 follower giveaway, I have now nearly reached 400 followers on bloglovin. I can't believe it! Hello to my new followers. I decided that I couldn't just giveaway this polish, without buying one for myself. I'm a sucker for mint green/pastel nail polishes so this one instantly caught my eye. I'd wanted to try her collection since it was released and I'm glad I did.
I love it! The colour is so vibrant and you don't need many coats to achieve the true shade. It also doesn't chip easily which is always a good thing. I hate having to keep re-touching my nails every few days. The size of the bottle is very generous and I love the packaging. I bought it from feel unique for £5.99. Its not the cheapest high street nail polish but it is worth the price. Her collection is also now available in selected Superdrug stores around the UK if you don't want to buy it online. I am definitely going to purchase more of these polishes and try her lip glosses. There has been lots of good reviews about them. Have you tried any of the Tanya Burr products? Also, I know I said "I promise I will be blogging a lot throughout this month" in my last post and that has been a complete lie as it is now a month later and I hadn't blogged anything. However, I have now got myself together and scheduled a load of posts, so there will be more content coming. This time I do promise!

RED BLACK

I can't stands not having my nails painted and it's hard coming to uni and not being able to bring my nail polish collection. I had to just bring some of my favourite colours. At the moment I have been wearing Barry M Nail Paint in the colour Red Black. I used to wear this colour all the time and I have only recently re-discovered it. Over the top I always wear the Sally Hensens Acrylic No Chip Top Coat which helps stop my nails from chipping.
What I really like about this shade is that you can build it up from being a cherry red shade with one coat to a dark deep red with a couple of coats. I love wearing deep reds in the winter and this is one of my favourite shades to wear at this time of year. I have always been a big fan of the colours in the Barry M collection but I haven't bought new one in absolutely ages. I really want to try out the new Classic Matte Nail collection such as the shade Nude Vanilla and Burgundy Crush. This shade above is the original formula but the only problem with it is that is takes forever to dry. I personally prefer the Barry M Gelly Shine Collection's formula as it applies better and dry quicker. I think it will be interesting so see what the Matte Collection is like. Has anyone tried that matte collection? How is it?

HIGH STREET BEAUTY HAUL

I haven't blogged in such a long time and it feels like I had completely lost interest in it and because I have been so busy over the last couple of months I just haven't had the time to get stuck in.I have also had "bloggers block" were I just haven't had any creative ideas of what to blog about. However, now I have finished school and have been on holiday and I have a lot of free time on my hand I am have decided to try and get back into it. I thought I would start off with a high street beauty haul showing you some items I've bought over the last week.
As you can tell from a post I did a couple of fews back I really love the Barry M nail polishes. However I never got round to trying the Gelly Hi Shine polishes. Because it was 3 for 2 in Superdrug I decided to splash out and buy a few shades for the summer. My favourite shade is the light blue colour 'Blueberry' and have been wearing it ever since I bought it and absolutely love it. I also bought another of my favourite top coat as I have run out of it. This top coat really helps with protecting against clipping. Like I said before I have just got back from holiday and to keep my skin protected after being in the sun I bought the Garnier after sun lotion and I absolutely love it. It smells amazing and it kept my skin so hydrated and prolong my tan. As we are having such nice weather in the UK at the moment I decided to buy some more to insure that my skin stays moisturised, hydrated and protected.
I also bought the Bourjois Color Boost in the shade "Fuchsia Libre". I have heard such good things about this and I wanted to see if it was any good myself. It says it should last for 10 hours and be waterproof so for £7.99 I wanted to see if it lives up to what it says. This product is similar to the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain and I want to see how they compare. Lately, I haven't been taking great are of my hair and I am really bad at protecting my hair against heat. I use hair straighteners everyday so I am really starting to notice the effect. As well as using damage repair shampoo and also bought the Aussie protecting stray to use when using heat in my hair. I haven't used it before and i'm not sure what it's like so I am looking forward to using it and seeing how good it is.

GETTING READY FOR SUMMER

Now we are in April, it is time that we should say goodbye to this pooey weather and get ready for spring and summer with some sunny weather! To get myself ready, I have been treating my nails to some of Barry M's  pastel colour range. These colours are so summery and pretty and will be perfect for the summer months to come (if we get any!) The shades are Berry Ice cream, Peach Melba and Blue Moon. My favourite is definitely Blue Moon. I love anything this colour and it is just gorgeous on your nails. I have been wearing it so much lately and it literally goes with anything I wear. Barry M have also just released a 'Textured' range with lots of different pastel colours available, which I will have to try! They are all on the website which you can see HERE. Have a lovely day!
